La Danse not only teaches you to dance on private lessons and in group classes, but also offers a multitude of activities to put your new dancing into use.
La Danse holds open to the public dances every weekend. At these dances you have a chance to practice your dancing with your own partner as well as with other partners in a fun social setting. Like other physical activities, dancing requires the repetition of practicing to create easy, enjoyable dancing and with teachers available to help out, our parties are a great chance to practice. Our dances are also a fun way to socialize with friends and also meet new friends who enjoy dancing as a fun & healthy hobby. The weekend dances offer all types of dance music from waltzes to swings, from rumbas to club dances. Light refreshments and soft drinks are also served making the evening a very enjoyable event.
New Student Practice Parties
Other parties include monthly practice parties for newer dancers. These dances are free of charge to LDC students and include a beginners class followed by dancing with each other and the teachers who are ready to help anyone who needs it. Students also enjoy meeting others who have also decided to learn some of the popular social dances and find a new hobby.
Open Houses and Guest Parties
La Danse schedules regular events for newcomers to see our beautiful studio, meet some of our students and staff, and be introduced to the fun world of dance. There are demonstrations of different dances by students and staff, an introductory beginners group class lesson, light refreshments, and an offer for a complimentary private lesson with one of our talented teachers. For everyone’s convenience, La Danse is open 7 days a week.
Twice a year La Danse holds a themed Showcase, which is one of the dance highlights of the year. In the afternoon, we proudly showcase our students dancing accomplishments. There are group presentations of every social dance at various levels of achievement. Some students also present choreographed routines to a favorite song, dancing with another student or with one of the teachers. The afternoon is a great time for families, friends, and co-workers to experience your enjoyment of dancing. At the end of the afternoon, we hold a dinner and cocktail party followed by an evening of dancing–definitely one of the favorites activities of everyone.
